Riva 1920 : our favorites
When it comes to luxury decoration, Pacific Compagnie chooses more than just aesthetics. Without its story, an object would feel less 'alive.' Stories are passed on like rare essences, and Riva1920 is one of the most precious. It all began in 1920, in Cantù, at the heart of Brianza — the Italian region where wood has, for centuries, engaged in dialogue with the finest craftsmanship. In a small workshop run by Nino Romano, every piece of furniture was born from a passionate hand, noble material, and timeless vision.
Over the decades, the Riva family infused this heritage with new energy, a visionary spirit: Mario in the 1940s, followed by Maurizio, Davide, and Anna in the late 1970s. They not only continued the tradition but elevated it to the level of an aesthetic manifesto, making custom craftsmanship, natural oils and waxes, and respect for wood their true signature.
When the brand entered the Salone del Mobile in Milan in 1992, it was not just an entry onto the international stage, but a revelation: the unveiling of expertise capable of transcending time, uniting bold innovation with loyalty to raw materials.
Today, Riva1920 is no longer just a furniture manufacturer: it is an icon of Italian design, a hymn to sustainability and authentic beauty. Each creation is conceived as a timeless work, shaped by master artisans with certified or reclaimed woods, embodying a discreet yet absolute luxury — one that respects both nature and the art of living.
We have selected our five favorites from Riva1920
Lounge Chair Totemica
Attention! The Lounge Chair Totemica is much more than a seat: it is a relaxation experience sculpted from wood and Italian craftsmanship. Its name evokes the symbol, the strength of a totem, and its design expresses this almost spiritual dimension: a fluid seat, naturally inclined, embracing the body in an ergonomic hold. It is a sensory work that engages sight, touch, and smell.
The combination of solid wood and fragrant cedar, enhanced with fabric or leather upholstery, gives the piece a rare aura — warm, authentic, and refined. Every detail has been designed to provide an ideal posture, where comfort is not an option but a certainty.
Materials: wooden shell, solid cedar pedestal, premium leather or fabric upholstery
Ergonomics: inclined seat, padded headrest with cedar counterweight
Options: integrated solid cedar side table (on request)
Style: comfort, stability, soft and rounded lines.

Stool Temperino
More than just a stool, Temperino is a work of design: it is displayed as much as it is used. It is a piece that combines playfulness with artisanal rigor. Carved from a single block of fragrant solid cedar, it stands out as a functional art object, where raw material becomes contemporary design.
Its name and shape evoke the pencil sharpener of our childhood: a nod to memory and creativity, reinterpreted by Riva1920 into an elegant and bold volume. It is a piece that makes you smile as much as it impresses, capable of transforming a simple stool into a sculptural icon. The cedar, worked in its purest form, makes each stool unique: veins, shades, and fragrance tell the story of the tree from which it came.
Material: fragrant solid cedar carved from a single block
Design: shape inspired by a pencil sharpener, metal detail.
Style: original design, sculptural and conversational spirit.
Sensory effect: natural fragrance of cedar that enhances the experience

Bench Molletta
An absolute icon of the Riva1920 catalog, the Molletta bench transforms an everyday object into a monumental sculpture. Inspired by the familiar shape of a clothespin, it boldly reinterprets its scale: the ordinary becomes extraordinary, the useful becomes a work of art. At the crossroads of pop art and artisanal craftsmanship, it challenges the codes of classic furniture by becoming a conversational piece.
Carved from massive blocks of fragrant cedar, the Molletta exudes a presence that is both playful and imposing. Its natural fragrance, raw material, and exceptional dimensions make it a statement design piece, as surprising in a private interior as it is spectacular in a public space or garden.
Material: blocks of fragrant solid cedar
Design: enlarged clothespin shape, pop art spirit.
Dimensions: available in three sizes (Mollettina, Molletta Medium, Molletta).
Style: playful, iconic, sculptural.

Dining Table Bree E Onda

Bookcase Step by Step
Step by Step is a column of knowledge, conceived as a functional sculpture. Stacked, rhythmic, almost totemic, it rotates on itself to present books as if unveiling works of art — a gesture, a quarter turn, a new façade. It is storage architecture reduced to its essence: verticality, rhythm, noble material.
The height and rhythm of the bookcase adapt to needs and architecture like a cabinetmaker’s piece crafted just for you. The visible dovetail joints assert the precision of Italian cabinetry — structural beauty, lasting solidity. The rotating base provides 360° access, ideal for demanding spaces (living room, office, hotel suite, boutique).
Material: solid wood (1.5 cm thickness)
Structure: stacked column modules, rotating base, dovetail joints
Style: functionality and demanding artisanal craftsmanship
