What is Teak?
Teak is a dense wood with tight fibre and high natural oil content. This makes it very durable, rot-resistant, and almost insensitive to the effects of the sun, rain, cold, and snow. These qualities make this wood essential for manufacturing outdoor furniture. Many other types of wood are used for the outdoors, some of which claim to be equivalent to teak. But teak has no equivalent when it comes to resistance to outdoor conditions.

What is Woven Resin?
The woven resin furniture is manufactured with the finest materials. Soft to the touch, the fibre is a material of unequalled quality, whose irreproachable finish combines flexibility and resistance to tearing, UV rays, and weather. This material, made of polyethylene, is shaped and dyed to be insensitive to the effects of time, temperature changes, and extreme use.

What Woven Materials are Used?
Our woven and braided materials are made with polyester fibres and encapsulated vinyl, available in several colours. We use only the best quality of Textilene® material.

At the beginning, woven materials were always combined with aluminium frames. Because of exceptional qualities of woven materials (comfort, weather resistance, robustness, availability in various colours), Gloster also combines woven materials with frames in aluminium and even stainless steel.

Can I leave my furniture outside all year round?
Yes, you can leave your pieces of furniture outside all year round, wherever you live in the world. Of course, pieces of furniture left outside all year round will be dirtier, but their durability will not be affected.

Does whole plantation teak respect the environment?
The whole plantation teak obviously respects the environment much more than harvesting from natural forests. Moreover, thanks to meticulous management, the quantity of cut trees never exceeds the quantity of planted trees. But the socio-ecological aspect is even more important. The plantations are actively managed in order to create a viable economy, which is perfectly integrated into the Indonesian social system and maximizes the use of the local population.
